where we eat is new to us
Last week Kyle and I, after long searching, finally found a great little table for the two of us. It is solid wood and very sturdy and painted black, which we love. Kyle is very excited and happy to have a table to sit at, but as you can see, we only have one chair, and that is our desk chair, and a storage bin for seats. We need chairs, but for now we are loving having a table to eat at. Last night for dinner we had barbeque chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy at a candle lit table...it was very romantic! :)
Also, incase some of you haven't heard, Kyle has a phone of his own now and if you want his number you can call me or e-mail him or whatever.

barf bucket and a paisley gown
This is me in the E.R. on Saturday night, July 31st.
I thought I had appendicitis. Kyle and I had just had pizza for dinner and gone grocery shopping when we came home and I passed out on the floor! Really? no. but i did lie down on the floor with a stomach ache. It kept getting worse and worse so Kyle put me to bed to sleep it off, but that was a joke because I was in so much pain I was in tears and feeling quite nauseated. blah blah blah i called my mom blah blah blah Kyle took me to the E.R. around 9 where they had me wear this very stylish paisley hospital gown and gave me a barf bucket that I almost had to use blah blah blah they gave me an iv, pushed on my stomach a bit, and 4 and a half hours later they told me not to eat and sent me home because they said I was too happy. I was cracking jokes, but don't they know laughter is the best medicine? I really was in a ton of pain. The next day went in to get more blood drawn, went in for a CT scan, which was weird and I almost threw up, and spent pretty much all day in the hospital. The doc finally came in and said I have cysts on my ovaries and one of them most likely ruptured and I don't have appendicitis. My favorite part...besides the paisley gown... was the blankets...the hospital apparently has a blanket warmer, so they bring you these blankets that feel like they just took them out of the dryer mmmmm :) To celebrate and calm my starving stomach after not eating for 26 hours we had Chinese...probably not the best choice, but it sounded good. The End.

BANG!
My wonderful sister and her hubby Brody came back to the States after being in Germany for 10 months and Kyle and I took a trip down to Utah for a few days to hang out before they left for Pennsylvania :( Brody's family has a bunch of horses and we went to the arena thing and watched people ride and I got to ride! It was kinda scary when the horse went fast, but I'm pretty much a natural.
One night that we were there Nancy (Brody's mom) let us finish off her, as we like to call it "Better Than Sex Dessert" and it was delicious, but between the four of us we concluded that it was not better.
They introduced us to a great game called BANG! and we loved it so much that we got it to add to our large library of games, which we purchased at the Game Night store in Salt Lake when we went down to visit with Kyle's sister Amanda, her husband David, and their adorable two kids Isabel and Brigham. Amanda made delicious burgers that David grilled up...we love bbqs. After the kids went to bed, we played BANG! with Amanda and David and they loved it, too, of course. Then we went back up to Ogden to finish our stay with Brody and Brittany. On our last night Brody took us all on a pony ride! Let me just say...."Turbo" speed is terrifying, but so much fun!
And while we were outside I got this mosquito bite (among many), this one was special, however, because it swelled up HUGE and stayed that way for a few days.

Fireworks and Sunburns
Happy 4th of July and hello sunburn. Now that it's short season, it is also sunblock season. In all the excitement though, it is easy to forget... as I did... ouch.
On Saturday we had our ward BBQ, met some new friends there, and played some kick ball... Kyle, of course was the all-star and I, knowing that any ball I kicked up would be caught, bunted as lightly as I could then ran as fast as my little legs would carry me. On Sunday, I had my first day of work and then Kyle and I had Josh and Trista over for our own little BBQ and played some Settlers of Catan. Monday we had the day off from school and went over to Aunt Suzie's and Uncle Mike's for yet another BBQ. It was sooo good! There was marinated steak, potato salad, green salad with mini bell peppers and avocado, and fruit salad. Mmmm. We talked about the Declaration of Independence and then shot off some fun little fireworks.
Unfortunately Kyle and I didn't go to any of the firework shows, but I did dream of fireworks and that was a happy treat. I had to work on the 4th... my first day. It went pretty good I think.
Earlier in the week... or not so early... on Friday Kyle took me to the driving range for the first time and tried to teach me how to hit a golf ball. Now, I won't show you the pictures he took of me, in fact, I deleted them because I looked like a little old woman trying to shoo a rabbit out of her way... it was ridiculous and he never told me how stupid I looked all hunched over like that! Kyle just can't teach and I'm not being mean, he just isn't very good at teaching me things... like snowboarding and now golf. It's okay, golf is his thing anyways, but it was so frustrating trying to hit that darn ball when he made it look so easy.
Oh well, it was fun I guess. I'm just glad to be outside soaking up the sunburn. :)

The June Bug Dies Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the last day of June, but spring fever has hardly begun. It is finally summer time here in Sexy Rexy (currently 83 degrees) and that makes going to school and doing homework about three times harder. And being terribly ill doesn't make it any easier. Oh well. I got a job on Monday.
Wait a second...WHAT?!? Yes, it is true...I got a job...at the Dollar Tree and I will be working with my good friend KC. Remember her? The gorgeous one who is getting married and I took her engagement pictures. Yes, her. Fantastic. I'm sort of terrified. Probably because I have only had one real job in my life and that was six years ago, not to mention I got yelled at and swore at all the time and actually cried a time or two. It was dreadful. Hopefully KC and the Dollar Tree experience will rid me of my phobia of jobs... fingers crossed.
Yesterday I skipped my math class... again... 2nd time... because I am still sick and feel terrible and the last thing I wanted to do was sit in a classroom and learn about statistics (which I can never say right the first time). Instead Kyle and I rode our bikes to the park on that beautiful, warm, sunshiny afternoon and I took pictures (as usual) and Kyle read his accounting book. I had to create a montage for my photography class and I think they turned out pretty cool, so I'll share. I made two...
After I finished with that I forced Kyle to take pictures with me. While we were there I started to feel pretty good and not so sick like... it was very nice to feel the sunshine and the warmth. As soon as we got home though, I was back to my sneezing, runny nose, and headachy, body-achy sick self again. Ugh.

Family Reunion
Home at last. Can I just tell you how absolutely wonderful it feels to come home to a clean, quiet, uncrowded apartment after spending four days in complete madness? It's amazing! 13 out of 15 children all under the age of 10 screaming and crying and running around; along with 15 not so quiet or tame grown ups. Did I mention my ever present headache for those four days? The boys watched the world cup, went golfing (where Kyle got insanely sunburned from lack of sunscreen. He looked like hot stuff... literally.) and argued about trivial matters. The girls made crafts and chatted a bit about birth and such. Let me tell you, if you want some of the best birth control...1. go to a family reunion with screaming, crying, temperamental kids, 2. talk about child birth in detail with those who have experienced it, and 3. hold the cute babies that drool/throw up on you, have to be held standing up, and poop so that you can feel it and hear it...gross. I probably told Kyle at least 10 times that we are never having children. It was fun though and the place we stayed in Ashton was beautiful. I wish it had been warmer so we could have gone kayaking and I wish all those thick blankets of flies that enveloped the outside of the cabin had died when they were supposed to. This is were we stayed...
The view in the front...
and the view in the back...
On Friday night there was an incredible storm with a ton of lightning! I was outside taking pictures trying to get a good one of lightning and Kyle's sister Carrie was a bit worried so she made someone get Kyle to come outside with me. He came out, said hi and two seconds later went back inside because it was cold. Then it started hailing out of nowhere and I got pelted right inside my ear...thats when I decided it was time to go inside.
Ohhh and the food was so AMAZING! We ate a cafe rio sort of dish that I made myself sick over from eating so much, delicious steak and baked potatoes, bb-q pork sandwiches, and green creamy chicken enchiladas....of which Kyle and I got to take home the two massive left over pans. Mmmmm.
We didn't get to sleep out in the tent unfortunately because it was pouring down rain the first night we were there Thursday, so we got put in a room with Kyle's brother Thad and his wife Julie who, up until then I had never met. Turns out that it wasn't awkward and I really like them :) Their son Ben liked to just stare at me with his big round blue eyes for minutes at a time...I tried to make him smile and I got close a time or two, but he was good.
Now I am sick and feel like I got hit by a train, which I blame it on the craziness and the lack of sleep from this happy reunion and Kyle is still trying to recover from his fun in the sun...we are quite a pair. It was a lot of fun, but I am so glad it is over.
Isabel and Aiden... precious.
