dirty money
Your dirty money turns my pretty, clean fingers black and makes them taste of metal. I guess no one can really control the cleanliness of their money, but still it is discusting and to think of all the germ infested hands it has passed through and where it has been to get so dirty. I get black coins, green coins, coins with sticky somethingness, coins with gunky junk, and everything else imagineable, today I even got a dirty quarter sized not quarter something that I found at the end of my shift... rude. Everytime I work at Dollar Tree, two hours into my shirt my fingers are black, so I wash my hands on my break and watch in amazment as the dirty money water runs off my fingers, clean once again for a whole five minutes and then it's back to work.

vacation
Last weekend was our mini size vacation. Kyle and I went to Utah to visit Amanda and David for a nice relaxing time off from work.
It was the perfect weekend too, the weather was nice and the trees are all sorts of colors... Amanda was looking nice and pregnant :)... perfect for taking pictures, which is what we did on Friday morning. Isabel and Brigham were being such punks being very skilled at avoiding my camera, but nontheless I think I got some cute pictures.
And Brigham didn't even take too long to warm up to us this time... he was holding my hand across the parking lot at In 'n Out the first night we were there and again at the park :) Such cute kids.
We ate at In 'n Out one night, I made pumpkin soup another night (which was a success), and David and Amanda made yummy ribeye and mashed potatoes the last night. We got to play a little BANG with them again and just relaxed and talked a bit about childbirth and that whole process. I learned quite a bit I think... for one thing... I can definitely wait to go through all that, I'll just work on being the best wife I can be right now and see how that goes first.
Aaand yesterday we went to the haunted straw maze with Josh and Trista and had a good time scaring Josh and watch Josh get scared and watching Josh and Trista be secret agaents through the maze. Then afterword we got ice-cream and I just might have discovered my new fave... pumpkin pie blizzard... delicious!

saturday
Got a call last night from Steve who told me not to come to work tomorrow morning because there was no work... so this morning I slept in, made lunch for Kyle and I, went and got a facial from my friend Kate at Evan's, which was delightful and quite relaxing, then I moseyed around Porter's for a bit and after getting a bit down because everything was so expensive... I discovered the clearence section and got some super cute stuff for super cheap. While I was getting my facial and discovering clearence at Porter's, Kyle was out golfing 9 holes with Josh one last time while the weather still permits. Then when we both got home we went to the movies and saw inception... which is Kyle's new obsession, had root beer floats for dinner and took a walk around Porter Park... and now I will be put to bed early so Kyle can have his earlier mentioned xbox brother play date.

change
the time for growing green is gone
as cool creeps through the air
leaves all change and fade away
and the colors make us stop and stare
enjoy the crimson colors as they come
enjoy them as they fall beneath your feet
enjoy their every sounding crunch
as walking lovers talk as they meet
soaking in the last warm days
to remind us when the warmth is lost
that soon warm rays will return
and pierce the freezing winter frost
Kyle and I went on a picnic yesterday morning. We made sandwiches, he a peanut butter and honey, and I a peanut butter and homemade peach blackberry jam, we also packed a jar of homemade applesauce, and made a bag of popcorn, put it all in my bike basket with the blanket and rode to the nature park. It was a lovely day for a picnic.
And then of course I took pictures, because I haven't in a while. As you might also notice, aside from our obvious good looks and charming smiles, I have finally, just barely, and not even completely, yet enough, achieved length enough for my hair to be put into a sort of wimpy, pathetic ponytail! woot woot! Even though it isn't really even a ponytail because ponytail are relatively straight and hang in a downward way, mine... well, it's more like a pom pom or a cotton puff, or something more like that, either way, it's exciting.
And tomorrow we are going on a date because Kyle feels the need to give me some "extra lovin'" as Andrew put it because he has an xbox date with the bros again.

pumpkin season
The other night, after Kyle and I got home from work, I was opening the windows up and out my window I see Kate and Braiden and they invite us to come get half price appetizers at Applebee's. So we did. We order appetizers and fruity drinks and when then the Applebee's people announced that whoever got the high score that night on guitar hero would get a free appetizer! Oookaaaay... yes please... so Kate and Kyle teamed up and played Kriptonite.... and since nobody else played, we got the free appetizer and split some mozerella sticks. Mmmm. it was so much fun :) That was Friday. Saturday we worked in the morning, watched the second half of the first session of conference, went to the bank, got ice-cream, watch the second session, went on a bikeride, then went to Trista's 20th surprise birthday party, which was a good time, and Kyle had a play date with the bros on xbox live. Sunday... more conference went to Mark and Lauren's for pancakes with some of their other friends....three couples had babies, one was prego, and then there was us... so we decided... we still aren't having kids yet, delicious pancakes and waffles with peanut butter and fruit, some sort of fame sherades, more conference, bikeride, then went to shane and K.C.'s and played skip-bo and ate brownies and K.C. and I made a play date for the next day to make wreaths. Monday I worked at Dollar Tree then met K.C. and we got stuff to make our fall wreaths and had a crafty afternoon at her place. Her wreath totally looks better than mine.
Then she went to work and I went home and decided I really wanted to make pumpkin soup even though Kyle "doesn't like pumpkin"... fine more for me. Well, I made it... told him i was making soup, but not what kind and he wasn't allowed in the kitchen. When it was done I made him do the blind taste and guess what the brat who doesn't like pumpkin said? He said "it's good!" I was so excited that really liked it, so I told him it was pumpkin soup... he wasn't too happy, but good soup is good soup. Oooo..... and Mom G. made us canned applesauce! Sooo good. We'll see how long it lasts :) It's beginning to feel a lot like fall and I'm loving it... this year, the leaves are even changing colors before it snows! They're gorgeous.

six months
today kyle and i have been married for six whole months! it was, surprisingly, an incredibly beautiful day. to celebrate we went to the temple and walked around and held hands... it was very romantic.
then we went to coldstone creamery and got free ice-cream using the gift card that kyle's mom gave us and it was delicious.
as we were sitting outside eating our delicious ice-cream kyle spotted melanie's car pulling into wal-mart and so we jumped in the car and decided to stalk her so we could say hello. found her, said hello, chatted, said goodbye, came home, played sorry... i lost... decided to make an amazing salad for dinner with three sister's dressing, went to the store, got salad and dressing stuff, came home made salad... it was amazing. six months of bliss and we couldn't be happier! we love being married and we love where our lives have brought us. happy six months!

summer in a rain jacket
Summer never came to Idaho this year. There was maybe a month total of summer days… for the most part though, it’s been rainy and chilly… more like fall. I guess it’s alright though because Kyle and I didn’t have much time for play with him working and me working two jobs and all. When we did have time off we just wanted to relax at home mostly. We did however have some fun this last week while we were in Washington visiting family. Kyle’s mom, Cathy taught me how to make home made jam and can fruit, so we came home with 14 jars of homemade jam, made mostly with fruit from Cathy’s garden, and 12 jars of canned peaches! Mmmm J
Kyle thinks he's funny...
We also went to visit Robbie and Melanie’s on Saturday for a Labor Day picnic… which was delectable… so much good food. Then we had a great day on Haden Lake with Carrie and Brett and their kids on their boat. Corissa, the only girl of five, was the only one brave enough to go out on the tube with Kyle and I and we had so much fun with her! In truth I was considering ducking out of riding, but when Corissa said “I’ll go if Lisa’s going”, well, I didn’t have a choice now did I? But I’m so glad I did because it was a blast! We did eventually convince Carrie to come out… she was such a wimp ;) but I egged Brett on to go faster and faster and just let her scream… it was great… she probably hates me now lol.
Ohhh and the sunset was incredible!
On our final day in Washington, we had a cookout with mom and dad, Carrie and Brett and their kids, Andrew, and the missionaries. And again it was sooo delicious! I have to say grilled zucchini and squash with parmesan is a new favorite of mine… I could eat that everyday and be perfectly happy. After everyone left, dad taught Kyle to drive a motorcycle. He was so excited that I had to be brave enough to let him take me on a ride and it was fun… he was so happy and now really wants to get a motorcycle.
It was a perfect way to end the summer and I’m glad to have such a loving and fun family! Speaking of family... we finally got the pictures from the reunion... Kyle and I are the cutest by far! :)
